Taarka
Taarka is a compelling film that fuses ethnography with music to depict the real-life story of international singing sensation Hilana Taarka, a folk singer who overcame all kinds of economic and social disadvantages to practice her art and become a legend. She always sang the truth, sometimes bitter, sometimes funny, and sometimes cruel. She was feared, despised and coveted. It is the story of an incredible journey, from a small Seto village to international fame. Taarka is the first feature film spoken in the language of the Seto, a small minority living in southeastern Estonia.
